About the Brighton Queer Quarter

What this is for

To help residents and visitors find and support queer Brighton — day and night, not just after dark. Daytime businesses, culture and community organisations get the same visibility as nightlife.

Ownership

Brighton Queer Quarter Ltd owns this platform, its brand, its domain and its data. A single Super Admin account holds ultimate control. A designated deputy may act with specific privileges that are granted explicitly and can be revoked at any time; the deputy cannot transfer ownership, change the Super Admin account, alter the boundary or change payment and security settings unless that is granted specifically. Every privileged action is recorded in an audit log.

Free participation

Every eligible business physically inside the mapped Quarter gets a complete free listing, free events and offers publishing, and equal access to the core tools. There is no paid tier for any core capability. Support information from charities is never behind a paywall.

Sponsorship

Businesses outside the boundary can support the Quarter through sponsorship placements. Those placements are always conspicuously labelled, sit in their own containers, and never create a map pin, an organic listing, an "inside the Quarter" designation or a change to organic ranking. Every placement is approved individually and can be paused immediately.

Steering group

A steering group advises on editorial direction and campaigns. It carries no automatic administrative privileges, and final publishing and policy authority stays with Brighton Queer Quarter Ltd.

Accuracy

Owners are responsible for the accuracy of their own listings. Each profile shows when it was last confirmed, and anyone can flag an inaccuracy from the page itself. Reports go to a moderation queue and notify the owner.
